A big congratulations for Dr Hou Han Wei for his promotion to Associate Professor with tenure! What a great and well-deserved promotion!

1 November 2022 – Welcome Hiromi!

A very warm welcome to Hiromi Takashi who has joined Hou Lab as a Research Fellow today!

She received her PhD., Biomolecular Engineering, Nagoya University, and enjoy watching movies and reading books during her free time.

She will be working on developing novel Organ-on-a-chip devices here in our lab! Happy to have you here, Hiromi!

Hou Lab was at the hybrid MicroTAS 2022 conference held at HangZhou, China!

Lingyan and Linwei were stoked to be there in-person to have their Oral Presentations, while Chayakorn and Sheng Yuan presented their e-posters remotely.


29 September 2022 – Farewell to Kasia!

Kasia, our visiting PhD student from University of Bath (UK), is ending her 3-months attachment with our lab today!

We will definitely miss her cool and friendly demeanour. Best of luck Kasia, and may our path cross again!

8 July 2022 – Lab outing at Holey Moley! 

Hou lab had a whacking good time with mini golf at Holey Moley Singapore!

It was the first time golf-ing for many of us, and we had plenty of laughter goofing around and competing!


15 May 2022 – Oral Talk Prize at A*STAR Advances in Cell and Gene Therapy (A*CGT) Symposium!

Congratulations to Lingyan for winning a $200 book prize at the A*STAR Advances in Cell and Gene Therapy (A*CGT) Symposium, for her selected talk “Integrated microfluidics for impedance-based cellular monitoring and real-time actuated sorting of single microcarriers”!

The symposium had over 40 invited and selected speakers sharing their advances in research and new innovations, as well as challenges in the field of cell and gene therapy.

24 July 2018 – MacRitchie Tree Top Walk!

The lab has successfully completed a 7 km hike up MacRitchie Tree Top Walk, a 250 m long freestanding suspension bridge, earning themselves a beautiful bird’s eye view of the canopy and a scrumptious lunch after.
